We are planning a trip to the Global Village at Habitat for Humanity's headquarters in Americus, Georgia on July 9. We will meet at Randy Dean's apartment (in Emory Oaks, right next to Athens Pizza) before 9am and drive (in however many cars we need to pack the number of participants into; at least three people with cars are planning to come) first to Yoder's Deitsch Haus, a Mennonite restaurant in Montezuma Georgia (about noon). After lunch we will go on (less than an hour's further drive) to the Global Village, and tour there for several hours, returning to Decatur in the early evening.
The Global Village costs $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $3 for students. Children under 6 are admitted free. You can print a copy of http://www.habitat.org/gvdc/ and bring it for a $1 discount on admission.
Please RSVP if you're planning to come on the trip to the Global Village, so we can reserve a table at Yoder's and (if there are enough people) possibly arrange a group discount or special tour for the Global Village. If you want more specific directions to Randy's apartment, email me.

Driving: Take I-85 to North Druid Hills Road (the next exit south from Clairmont Road, where you might exit to go to Athens Pizza). Go north on North Druid Hills Road (turn left if coming from the north, right if coming from the south). Continue on North Druid Hills Road until it merges with Peachtree Road. Dresden Drive will be the next cross-street; immediately after that, turn left into the Brookhaven Station shopping center.
By MARTA: Take the northeast line to Brookhaven Station. Exit on the north, Dresden Drive side of the station; cross Dresden Avenue (to the Waffle House) and then cross Peachtree Road (to Brookhaven Station shopping center).
Dragon Express is near the northern edge of the shopping center, near Sherlock Wine Merchants.
